28th Annual Max R. Gaspar, MD Symposium: A Tale of Two Programs: Multidisciplinary Approaches to the Delivery of Vascular Care

This year, the topic is "A Tale of Two Programs: Multidisciplinary Approaches to the Delivery of Vascular Care." Fred Weaver, MD, MMM, previous chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery, will kick off the conference with a tribute to Dr. Gaspar, who served as an attending surgeon at Los Angeles County Hospital for more than 50 years, and as a Senior Vascular Attending Surgeon for more than 25 years.
Kenneth R. Ziegler, MD and Sukgu Han, MD, will moderate four sessions throughout the day encompassing the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary delivery of vascular care, with special emphasis on aortic pathologies and partnerships in the improvement of limb salvage. The first half of the day will conclude with a lecture from Gaspar Visiting Professor Gilbert Upchurch, MD, the Edward M. Copeland III and Ann & Ira Horowitz Department Chair of the University of Florida Department of Surgery.
Contributing speakers include the faculty of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and guest speakers from across the country.

1. • Identify advanced complex endovascular treatments available to patients through symbiotic relationships between cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and specialist partners.
2. • Discuss the importance of integrated care pathways with affiliated health professionals in the long-term maintenance of remission in chronic limb threatening ischemia
3. • Assess efforts toward prevention of amputation with targeted interventions informed by social science approaches.
4. • Integrate knowledge from basic sciences in the understanding of aortic pathology and treatment.

The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California designates this Live Activity activity for a maximum of 6.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be received by the USC Office of CME by email only by August 30, 2024 by 12:00 pm PDT for a refund to be issued. A $50 cancellation fee will be applied. In the event of course cancellation by conference organizers, all registration fees will be fully refunded. USC will not refund any travel costs incurred.
