Overview

Recent breakthroughs in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal and liver diseases are reshaping patient care. Innovative therapies are transforming the management of IBD, MASLD, Met-ALD, cholestatic liver diseases, and viral hepatitis B/C, while advanced endoscopic and imaging techniques are redefining our approach to pancreaticobiliary diseases, motility disorders, and early luminal neoplasia. Despite these advances, significant knowledge gaps persist. The upcoming conference aims to update community standards of practice by addressing topics such as obesity management, metabolic liver diseases, revised transplant policies, the challenges of alcoholic hepatitis, emerging transplant strategies for cholangiocarcinoma, metastatic colon cancer, and various luminal, upper GI, lower GI, and pancreatic disorders. This event will highlight the latest developments in gastroenterology and hepatology to enhance patient care.

Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify advances in third-space endoscopy and complicated biliary cases.
  2. Explain the role of supportive techniques in the evaluation of esophageal disorders and how best to evaluate belching, bloating, distention, and other common GI symptoms.
  3. Review updates in the medical management of IBD and the management of dysplasia.
  4. Outline the newest screening and surveillance approaches for colorectal and pancreatic cancer.
  5. Describe the evaluation process for both living liver donors and recipients, encompassing medical, surgical, and patient perspectives, to ensure optimal outcomes and minimize risks associated with living donor liver transplants.
  6. Recognize the pathophysiology and clinical implications of acute kidney injury in cirrhosis, including its impact on patient prognosis and management strategies, to improve early detection and treatment approaches in clinical practice.
  7. Review the latest advancements in treatments for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), including surgical, locoregional, and systemic therapies.
  8. Describe methods to optimize the care of the ambulatory patient with cirrhosis and prevent decompensation.
  9. Discover insights into recent advances in managing metabolic dysfunction associated with steatohepatitis (MASH), including pharmacological and lifestyle interventions, to address the growing burden of MASH-related liver disease and improve patient outcomes.
  10. Examine the latest developments in hepatitis B treatment, including antiviral therapies.
