Continuing our dedication to providing a comprehensive and current update in the management of thyroid disease, USC presents the Peter A. Singer Thyroid Symposium in 2023.
This is again a hybrid program, offering options for either an in-person experience or virtual attendance. Clinical care of patients with thyroid disorders is a changing and increasingly complex practice.  We will present forward-looking perspectives on the most current state of thyroid medicine informed by evidenced-based management strategies.
For 2023, we will highlight key areas of advancement and interest to both specialists and general providers, including subclinical hypothyroidism, optimizing your ultrasound assessment of nodules, postpartum thyroid disease, radioactive iodine use in the treatment of thyroid cancer, voice complaints after thyroidectomy, and more.  Presentations combining evidence-based medicine, clinical experience, challenging cases, panel discussions, and audience questions will help inform solutions to complex clinical scenarios.

1. Decide evidenced-based approach to patients with subclinical hypothyroidism.
2. Examine ultrasound features of thyroid nodules and assess malignancy risk and indication for fine-needle aspiration biopsy.
3. Determine management for toxic thyroid nodules.
4. dentify common vocal complaints after thyroidectomy and available treatments.
5. Provide appropriate postpartum management of common thyroid conditions.
6. Review the clinical indications and available systematic therapy options for patients with advanced thyroid cancers.
7. Select radioactive iodine treatment for patients with thyroid cancer based on current evidenced-based understanding of risks and benefits.
8. Discuss the current use and limitations of thyroglobulin measurement for patients with differentiated thyroid cancer after hemithyroidectomy.

The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California designates this Live Activity activity for a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be received by the USC Office of CME by email only by May 30, 2023 by 12:00 pm PDT for a refund. A $50 cancellation fee will be applied after May 30. 2023. In the event of course cancellation by conference organizers, all registration fees will be fully refunded. USC will not refund any travel costs incurred.
