Overview

Pre-registration ends January 12, 2027 at 12:00pm PST. To register after January 12, please register on-site.

This program will review the current state-of-the-art for breast cancer management, highlighting the key components of multi-disciplinary treatment to include oncofertility, breast pathology, surgical oncology, medical oncology, and radiation oncology. The format of this program will consist of lectures by internationally recognized clinical investigators in their fields.

Over the past year, advances in clinical trials have demonstrated the utility of antibody-drug conjugates, downstaging surgical management of the axilla, and the emergence of a new class of adjuvant endocrine therapy agents. These developments, along with data on use of hormone therapy after a breast cancer diagnosis, use of assisted reproductive technology to enhance pregnancy after breast cancer, and development of spatial ecosystems coupled with immunotherapy make individualized management decisions increasingly important in treating patients with breast cancer. Newer radiation therapy treatment strategies and clinical trials in radiation oncology continue to evolve. These breakthroughs allow personalized breast cancer treatments to maximize benefits and minimize treatment toxicities.

To update practicing physicians on the rapidly evolving landscape of breast cancer management, the symposium this year will focus on advances in endocrine therapy, in the adjuvant and metastatic setting, surgical management of the axilla, clinical trials in radiation therapy, oncofertility, the use of antibody drug conjugates, evolving strategies in HER2-positive breast cancer, and immunotherapy. Thought leaders and investigators in each of their respective fields have accepted our invitations to share their current research and knowledge.

Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the latest developments in spatial ecosystems (neighborhoods) and their role in immunotherapy for breast cancer.
  2. Assess the utility of assisted reproductive technologies to preserve ovarian function after treatment for breast cancer.
  3. Discuss latest developments in use of antibody drug conjugates in the adjuvant, neoadjuvant, and metastatic settings.
  4. Identify the controversies regarding the de-escalation of radiation therapy for invasive breast cancer.
  5. Assess decision-making processes in surgical management of the axilla.
  6. Define the role of endocrine therapy for early and metastatic breast cancer.
