Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the rationale and indications for middle meningeal artery embolization for chronic subdural hematoma.
  2. Define the role of perfusion imaging in triaging endovascular management of posterior circulation stroke.
  3. Contrast Tenecteplase versus alteplase for intravenous thrombolysis.
  4. Implement protocols for blood pressure management in secondary stroke prevention.
  5. Discuss contemporary indications and strategies for cerebrovascular bypass.
  6. Prognosticate outcome for thrombectomy in patients with large core infarcts.
  7. Compare medical versus surgical/endovascular management of carotid artery stenosis.
  8. Understand the role of magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging in cerebrovascular disease.
  9. Review the latest guidelines for stroke management.
  10. Critique the limitations of the studies referenced above.
  11. Formulate evidence-based treatment algorithms for the management of patients with these conditions.

The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be received by the USC Office of CME by email only by October 12, at 12:00 pm PDT for a refund. A $50 cancellation fee will be applied after. In the event of course cancellation by conference organizers, all registration fees will be fully refunded. USC will not refund any travel costs incurred.
