Overview

This symposium will be geared toward raising awareness on safety and sustainability in managing patients in the perioperative period, as well as toward the discussion of further incorporation of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in leadership and advocacy. This program will include lectures as well as round table discussions on several issues such as Sustainability in Anesthesiology, Neuro-anesthesiology, regional anesthesiology, Cardiac anesthesiology, leadership in medicine, as well as advocacy for anesthesiologists.


Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the methods to improve safety and sustainability in perioperative patient's care.
  2. Discuss the fundamental principles concerning management of patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage and stroke in interventional radiology suite.
  3. Discuss the fundamental principles of management of patients going through cardiac surgery and their perioperative treatment.
  4. Analyze the fundamental principles concerning management of patients undergoing orthopedic procedures, regional blockage and use of opioids.

Accreditation
The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Cancellations must be received by the USC Office of CME (fax or email) by September 24, 2024 at 12:00pm PDT for a refund. A $50 cancellation fee will be applied. In the event of course cancellation by conference organizers, all registration fees will be fully refunded. USC will not refund any travel costs incurred.
