Overview
This course aims to provide an update on colorectal surgery topics, with a focus on new technology, updated management strategies and education on advanced surgical techniques. The program is a one-and-a-half-day event with didactic lectures, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions with participants. The following colorectal surgery topics will be covered: minimally invasive surgery, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, anorectal disorders and other benign colorectal diseases. Participants will leave with a broad understanding of these disease processes and how to treat them in day to day practice. 

Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:


  1. Describe management techniques in malignant and pre-malignant colorectal conditions
  2. Integrate current management guidelines and operative indications into practice for benign colorectal conditions such as hemorrhoids, IBD, fistula and diverticulitis
  3. Distinguish new minimally invasive techniques and outline their role in management of colorectal conditions
  4. Discuss quality metrics for various colorectal conditions including IBD, rectal cancer, and identify future trends in assessment standards

Accreditation
The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California designates this Live Activity activity for a maximum of 9.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be received by the USC Office of CME by email only by March 4, 2023 at 12:00 pm PDT for a refund. A $50 cancellation fee will be applied. In the event of course cancellation by conference organizers, all registration fees will be fully refunded. USC will not refund any travel costs incurred.
