Overview
The purpose of this meeting, “Therapeutic Hypothermia and Temperature Management,” is to gather leading scientists and clinicians in the field of therapeutic hypothermia and temperature management. A series of lectures by authorities in this field as well as round table discussions will be organized around a two-day meeting, allowing attendees interested in this topic to discuss the various obstacles that are ahead as temperature is utilized as a treatment paradigm in clinical situations. This will the 11th time the meeting is held; it is known internationally as an opportunity to learn about therapeutic hypothermia across multiple disciplines: cardiology, neurology, emergency medicine, trauma, and pediatrics.

Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Assess the importance of therapeutic hypothermia in post cardiac arrest.
  2. Analyze different approaches to individualize temperature management in patients with hematomas and ICP control in patients with diffuse brain injury.
  3. Evaluate intravascular cooling techniques with minimal variation in body temperature.

Accreditation
The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California designates this Live Activity activity for a maximum of 11.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
