Brain tumors and disorders related to brain tumors is a rapidly changing field with continued advances in surgical techniques, adjuvant therapies, radiation oncology modalities, innovative clinical trials, and most importantly brain tumor research.  We use a multi-disciplinary approach that is integral to the diagnosis and treatment to effectively care for our brain tumor patients.  Along the lines of multi-disciplinary approach, research and evidence-based practices is the pillar of our center.  This program will entail multiple lectures from specialists in the brain tumor research, neuro-oncology, neurosurgery, neuroimaging, and neuro radiation oncology practices.  The experts in each of these fields will be presenting their latest research studies and practices to our guests so we can create a forum on the leading research and treatments for our patients in the community and beyond.  The program will be followed by a poster session/reception. 

1. Summarize innovations in imaging, surgical management, medical therapy, and palliative care for bone tumors of the spine.
2. Critically appraise the issues for treatments for brain metastases including advances in radiosurgery and other surgical treatments, targeted therapy, and the possibility of immunotherapy.
3. Describe the technological innovations in imaging, radiation, and surgery for brain tumor management and de?ne their role in clinical practice.
4. Review the contemporary management of meningiomas including the roles of surgery, radiation, and adjuvant therapy and their relation to outcomes.
5. Describe advances in molecular diagnostics, epigenetics, cellular therapy, and immunotherapy of gliomas.
6. Know the latest modal management strategies for various subtypes of pituitary adenomas.

The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California designates this Live Activity activity for a maximum of 13.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

Cancellation Policy

Registration cancellations not related to COVID-19 must be emailed to the USC Office of CME by October 29, 2024 12:00 pm PDT for a refund. A $50 cancellation fee will be applied. In the event of course cancellation by conference organizers, all registration fees will be fully refunded. USC will not refund any travel costs incurred.
