21st Annual Innovations in Medical Education Online Conference 2024

The 21st annual Innovations in Medical Education (IME) Online Conference joins together a growing community of learners, teachers, scholars, and leaders from around the world working together to promote change through innovation in health professions education. Our goal is to move education in the health professions toward a higher level of excellence and well-being. We will provide a forum for sharing innovative ideas and educational innovations related to teaching and learning, leading, mentoring, and well-being within health professions education. In 2024, we will be using Whova as our online conference event platform to provide access to  Zoom livestreams of all sessions for registered attendees. The twenty-one interactive workshops are designed to enhance participant skills related to teaching, leadership, educational scholarship, professional development, and promotion of well-being. Seven topical oral presentations and twelve focused poster sessions will provide opportunities for dissemination of participant scholarly work, time for live questions and answers, and networking in a collaborative atmosphere. Our 2024 keynote speaker is Holly J. Humphrey, MD, MACP, President of the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation. She will explore historical and contemporary forces which shape our clinical learning environments in her address, "Why Exemplary Clinical Learning Environments Matter Now More than Ever."

1. Utilize evidence-based principles of teaching, leading, mentoring, and educational scholarship in their work within health professions’ education.
2. Incorporate techniques for enhancing the learning environment and well-being for all participants within their educational setting.
3. Teach and assess their learners in relation to the six ACCME Core Competencies by adapting the cool ideas and innovations learned about at IME.
4. Incorporate cool ideas and innovations into the development of curricula and into teaching at all levels of health professions’ education.

The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California designates this Live Activity activity for a maximum of 14.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be received by the USC Office of CME by email only by Monday, February 12, 2024 at 12:00 pm PDT for a refund. A $50 cancellation fee will be applied. In the event of course cancellation by conference organizers, all registration fees will be fully refunded. USC will not refund any travel costs incurred.
