Overview
Rapid advances in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver diseases have changed our approach to patient care. Pharmacologic innovations have transformed the treatment of Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and viral hepatitis. Endoscopic and imaging tools have completely changed our diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for pancreaticobiliary disease and the treatment of motility disorders and early luminal neoplasia. This has led to a knowledge gap in how we now approach and treat our patients. The conference will focus on updating standards of practice in the community, including cancer screening guidelines, obesity management, as well as addressing topics in luminal, pancreatic, and liver disease which impact the daily practice of attendees and highlight advances at the frontier of Gastroenterology and Hepatology that promise to improve patient care.

Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Integrate the newest therapies for patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
  2. Identify GI and liver complications of obesity and how to manage them.
  3. Assess patients at risk for GI and liver cancer and improve techniques for screening.
  4. Recognize patients whose symptoms are a result of dysmotility and provide them with up-to-date therapies.
